Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary in Gainesville, FL is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to join our team as a Part-Time Staff Sanctuary Veterinarian. For nearly 30 years, veterinarians, animal welfare organizations, government agencies, and sanctuaries worldwide have sought Jungle Friends' expertise in the lifelong care of rescued New World primates. Approximately 170 capuchins, squirrel monkeys, spider monkeys, marmosets, and tamarins call Jungle Friends home.
Details: Collaborate with Dr. Bobby Collins, Dr. Fred Schirmer, University of Florida specialists, the Dental Coalition for Conservation, veterinary technicians, assistants, and experienced caregivers. Work in our on-site Bob Barker Medical Clinic with integrated digital medical records. Participate in one of the most comprehensive preventive medicine programs for New World monkeys, including preventive medicine weekends where every monkey receives annual examinations.
Schedule: Approximately one weekly visit (typically 2-3 hours) plus 3-4 annual clinic weekends.
Requirements: Experience with primates is welcomed but not required.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, discussed with candidates during the interview process
