We are looking for candidates that have recent small animal practice experience in veterinary assisting. Our team needs someone who has already acquired a strong basic skill set and understands the operations of a companion animal practice. Our ideal candidate has both excellent phone and person-to-person etiquette and self-presentation. We want someone who presents themselves with confidence. It is imperative that you have a positive personality, can effectively communicate with clients and other staff members, and above all, can cater to our specific clientele. We need someone that is organized, intelligent, dependable, punctual, focused, highly trainable, and wiling to carry out all duties associated with our job description. Computer skills are necessary, as well as familiarity with google apps and Microsoft programs. Animal handling and restraint will be a primary duty, so applicants must feel comfortable interacting with both canine and feline patients. Being well spoken, articulate, and understanding the veterinary industry are very important to us. Candidates should have experience in nursing care, lab sample collection, IV catheter placement, anesthetic monitoring during surgical procedures, surgical patient preparation, performing dental cleanings, taking x-ray images, maintaining instruments and equipment, and keeping strict cleanliness and sanitation of hospital grounds.
